Canciones De Mi Padre

Today my dad picked me up from school. My dad has never been the one to pick me up from school, but now that my mom teaches institute and is unable to be there, it is pretty much dad's job now. Mondays and Wednesdays. I like Mondays and Wednesdays.

Today I am sick. My dad asked me what was wrong when I was rubbing my head.

Today I told him I started a blog. He sounded interested.

Today we went to Jack in the Box. He asked me if I wanted a drink. I told him Sprite, for my headache. He comes out with a large drink in his hand. He gets in the car and I say thanks.
Next thing he says is, "You know sugar drinks are bad for acne?" ........Thanks dad.

    My dad likes to camp.
    My dad loves our dogs.
My dad is a hard worker.
My dad loves his family. Especially my mom.
My dad is a dork. The biggest dork.
    My dad is smart.
My dad wears cowboy boots... (He thinks he's a cowboy).
My dad apparently thinks he is a dermatologist too.
The weirdest thing about my dad is his singing. He sings ALL THE TIME. To my dogs. To himself.
To my dogs.
And I love all of it.

    I'm grateful for my dad.

  1. Dad has been practicing dermatology for years.

When I was a young tike I'd ask if I could tag along with him to the grocery store so I could get some candy.

I would always get peanut butter M&M's and he would say, "Do you know chocolate gives you zits? Do you want Keith to see you with a zit at church on Sunday?"

Secretly I was always nervous I'd get a zit. But name a boy who is worth passing up peanut butter M&M's for.

I loved this post Liv- You could not have painted a better picture of our papa bear.

  2. Dad really only ever commented on my grease-ball hair. It has made me so self-conscious about my hair. Thankfully for him and his constant nagging about how he could change the car oil with a hair cut of mine, I am now a well-groomed woman.

    Thanks, dad.

  3. Your dad is AWESOME!
My dad would sing ALL the time too... It used to drive me CRAZY! Until I was on my own, without him, and I realized how much I loved and missed his incredibly embarassing and dorky singing.
Gotta love the dorky dads! That's how you know they're the great ones!
