MAKING HEALTH GOALS...AND STICKING TO THEM {YOUR BODY WILL THANK YOU}

source
not too long ago i came across a post on the college prepster written by guest maxie mccoy on how to write a personal mission statement.  as is everything on the college prepster blog, this post was super inspiring and got me formulating my very own mission statement!

this process first requires a little self reflection.  what is unique about you...what dominates your day to day life...what is your biggest priority...you get the picture.  the actual writing-the-mission-statement part is a little tricky.  what direction do you want your life to have and how will this influence others around you for good?

after a little tweaking, i came up with my own:

my life mission: to feed my ambition and love for learning while
inspiring others to do the same
as i strive to become the best possible version of myself.

after that much self-reflection {phew, aren't you exhausted?} i opened myself up to some strong qualities i possess... aaand some weaker ones.  this mission of mine can't be an open ended statement--it requires hard work, passion, and faith. and i asked myself, why do i have a hard time sticking with goals that i make with my own improvement in mind? why do we ALL do this? here are a few culprits that everyone suffers from:

loss of motivation
boredom
"i shouldn't have to worry about this" {shouldn't you?}
no one else cares
i'd rather be doing something else
it's too hard
lose sight of desired end product
it tastes good {you heard me}
you current environment
i'll start tomorrow

we have all been there. me? a hundred billion times! i am the WORST at sticking with goals, and at one time or another, i have thought these exact thoughts or experienced these exact predicaments.  how do we get out of the slump? is there hope? sure. have ii found it yet?

i'll let you know eventually.

in the mean time,
seize the day, sister!
